What turfing looks like in Manchester and Salford

Most of our city work is in places where nothing can be driven to the lawn. Turf comes in by barrow through gates, passages and sometimes lifts, so we plan the route before the day.

Newer townhouses around Ancoats, New Islington and out towards Openshaw and Gorton tend to have small, walled back gardens. They're quick to lay but often need the builders' soil replacing, as there's very little depth over the old ground.

In Salford, the schemes around the Quays, Ordsall and Pendleton bring communal lawns and courtyards, often managed by an agent who needs a clear quote to take to the residents.

Jobs we price here

  • Small walled gardens behind new townhouses
  • Returfing tired courtyards on older developments
  • Older terraces in Chorlton, Levenshulme and Eccles getting a new lawn
